List of Fruits That Are Healthy For Type 2 Diabetes


With more and more people being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, different remedies are recommended which will work best for people who want to get control over their blood sugar levels.  Most people suffering from Type 2 diabetes want to know which kind of fruits they can eat to enjoy a healthier life.  Diabetes is a serious medical condition where it causes the pancreas to stop produce insulin and causes many serious medical complications  like stroke, kidney failure, heart failure to name a few.
People suffering from type 2 diabetes should have fruits that contain vitamin, mineral and fiber. It is important for the diabetics to have knowledge of the fruits that offer them maximum benefits and have a lower glycemic index value. The good types of fruits are Cherries, Peaches, Prunes, Grapefruit, Plums, Pears, Grapes, Oranges, Kiwi, Blackberries, Guava, Fig and strawberries.
One should avoid the foods that have a higher value of glycemic index and should be taken only in moderate amounts. Some diabetic fruits that must be avoided are Mango, Pineapple, Apricot, and Watermelon but can be eaten in small portion sizes.
Fruits should be eaten in its natural form without adding sugar on it.  Fruit juices should be avoided as they have high sugar content.  It is important to eat only in moderation as too much of anything is not good for health.
